Dolly and Romo.

(In order to keep uploading stuff that isn't only in Spanish I had decided to post this short story that i had to write for college. I'll be uploading new episodes of my main story on January.

Para seguir subiendo cosas que no están solo en español, decidí publicar esta pequeña historia que tuve que escribir para la universidad. Subiré nuevos episodios de mi historia principal en enero.)

There was once a huge arc carrying two of every animal: a male and a female. One day out of nowhere, a violent storm hit them and the arc caught fire.
All the animals tried to escape but only a few made it. Like a miracle, a sheep and a wolf washed ashore on a desert island. Natural enemies having no one but themselves, they helped each other out as much as they could.
A month passed and they had already got used to their new lives. They built a house atop a tree and learned how to harvest food from the forest. More than that, they had become friends. As days went by the sheep, Dolly, realized that she loved the wolf. But feared for her life since she had been taught not to get close to his kind. Almost at the same time, the wolf, Romo, realized he loved Dolly, but was afraid of hurting her if he ever lost control over his instincts.
As time went by, they grew even closer and could not hide their feelings anymore. They decided to put their differences aside and try to make their relationship work.
They were not sure how much time had passed since they had arrived at the island but to them it was like an eternity. The island was nothing like it was when they had arrived. Once a desert, now it was blooming with life, monkeys, bears, all kinds of birds. Nevertheless, Dolly and Romo never cared who was around as long as they had each other.
One dreadful day the worst creatures arrived at the island, humans. They killed just for fun and cut down the trees to build their houses. One day as Romo was out gathering food, the humans kidnapped Dolly. Romo, filled with rage let his animal side run amok. He went to the place where humans were and feasted on their meat. He slashed and bit to his heart’s contempt. When he finished and calmed down, it was too late. In his outburst, he had accidentally harmed Dolly and she had died. Romo started to sob as he watched the lifeless corpse of the only being he had ever loved lying cold on the ground with a frightened expression still etched onto her face.

He knew it was too late to regret. Nothing he could do would bring her back, so he decided that he was the one who should go to her. He took a rope and hanged himself from the tallest tree in the forest hoping he would see her again in the afterlife. However, animals do not go to heaven.
